Stevia
Stevia extracts or stevia sugar are 300% sweeter and stevia leaves are 30% sweeter when compared to normal sugar.Hence it is called as Sweet leaf, Sugar leaf. Stevia rebaudiana is the botanical name. Stevia medicinal properties were found by Japanese and it was slowly spread to Thailand,Malaysia and Taiwan. Stevia leaves native to south america and used from ancient times.  

Nutritional value with Stevia:
  • Stevia leaves can be taken by diabetics to control sugar levels in the body.
  • Stevia leaves not only controls diabetes and also controls blood pressure ,hypertension, stomach burns, heart problems ,skin diseases and act as anti aging agent.
  • Stevia leaves can control mouth cancers when they chewed and act as a mouth freshener.
  • Stevia leaves contains no calories thus it will not increases glucose levels in the body.
  • Stevia is very good in reducing obesity and tooth problems.

  • More clinical studies states that Stevia is more effective in treating Type 2 diabetes.
  • Some of experiments states that stevia can cause low blood pressure.
  • The World Health Organisation (WHO) and Food and Drug Administration of the US suggested 4mg per kg of body weight is acceptable intake of stevia.
  • Pregnent women and people suffering from serious health disturbance's should take advise of doctor before consumption.
