Myths About Fruits

  • Eating fruits on empty stomach will detoxify your body, supplies sufficient energy and supports weight loss. Eating more fruits will fill the stomach and avoids in taking of high calorie food which helps reduction of weight.
  • Fruits have high fiber and water content, so stomach digests the fruits with less effort.
  • People complain eating mango or papaya will bloats up the stomach with gas and if we eat banana need sit in toilet. These issues will arise if we eat fruit with meals or other foods. Fruits mix with other food and produce gas and bloat your stomach. So eat fruit on empty stomach.
  • People believe lime fruits are acidic nature and spoil stomach and increases acidity. Lemons are acidic nature but won’t spoil your stomach nor increase acidity. Stomach has capacity to neutralize acids and slightly improves alkalinity to absorb nutrients by the intestines.
  • People believe taking lemon juice will effect cold and cough. Lemon juice will produce vitamin-c and helps to improve immunity. The sugar which you add to lemon juice will affect cold and cough. Drink juices without sugar.
  • Eating whole fruit is better than taking juice. Fresh juice better than preserved.
  • Don't mix milk to juice. Stomach take 15 - 30mins to digest fruit and it takes 1hour - 2 hours to digest milk. Stomach or liver produce hydrochloric acid to digest food. If fruits mixed in milk fruits need to stay more time along with milk to digest. Staying long time in stomach will produce gas. Strong stomach will with stand without any notice but weak stomach will get bloats.
  • Eating fruits will decay teeth is false eating citrus fruits will clean teeth. If you don't rinse your mouth after eating anything teeth will automatically decay.
  • Eating bananas will gain weight. Yes we will gain healthy weight not in terms of fat but in terms of muscle growth because it contains potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6. Due to low hypoglycemic index even though it has carbohydrates it will delay the release of carbohydrates in to blood stream. Eating single banana a day will help in weight loss.
  • Eating fruits are danger. Yes now day’s fruits are treated with chemicals in ripening process. Need to wash thoroughly to get rid of danger.
  • Papaya & Pregnancy: completely ripen papaya is rich in vitamins and minerals and good for pregnant women.  Only raw papaya or semi riped papaya will makes uterine contractions.
  • Apple keeps doctor away: Apple contains pectin (soluble fiber) which reduces cholesterol. Apple contains vitamin -B, C. So it helps to fight against diseases.
